In spite of the still difficult context marked by the pandemic, we managed to adapt our way of working, of collaborating with colleagues and of doing good. We managed to successfully transfer activities online and to surpass distance and other challenges in order to achieve success. Aspects valid not only for our business activity, but for the CSR activity as well. And results didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fail to appear, thus giving us with more energy to do good and proving that our Group\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s agility, environmental responsibility, and pledge for involvement in communities continue to stand solid despite any challenges.<\/p>\n
Recently, our company has been awarded two important distinctions for \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Code Hero\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, an educational project actively supported by us and implemented together with one of our NGO partners.<\/p>\n
The first one, the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Business Leader in CSR\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/strong> award, was received during ABSL Awards Gala, the most important competition of the Romanian business outsourcing sector, being the third year in a row when Societe Generale Global Solution Centre Romania is offered this distinction for its commitment to the CSR activity.<\/p>\n The second distinction, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153CSR initiative of the Year\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/strong>, was received at Romanian Outsourcing and Share Services Awards Gala, another valued competition of the national outsourcing sector, where companies submit their CSR projects and compete for receiving recognition.<\/p>\n The \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Code Hero\u00e2\u20ac\u009d 2020 edition gave over 2.000 Romanian children, 9-13 y.o., from both rural and urban areas, the occasion to develop their digital skills in order to further have better hiring chances and a successful adult life. For this, the project included free online lessons during which children learnt from specially trained volunteers both digital\/programming skills (Scratch based programming lessons) and soft skills (financial education, public speaking, how to make a good presentation, how to offer feedback, cyberbullying etc.). The educational curriculum used for the programming part was developed by Harvard Graduate School of Education.<\/p>\n Societe Generale Global Solution Centre Romania is committed to continue its focus on CSR, in each of its streams (Environmental Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion, Citizenship, Sustainable IT and Sustainable Finance) and to create new opportunities to positively impact the community.
