All these efforts and dedication is now rewarded by the business and CSR community in Romania.
SG EBS announces with great pleasure that the fight against climate change has been acknowledge by the industry, as the company received the Business Leader in CSR award at ABSL Awards Gala in May. This is the second year in a row SG EBS is awarded for its commitment to CSR activity.
This prize celebrates the efforts that were invested during an entire year in its internal sustainability program “Reduce, Collect, Recycle and Breath” by the internal teams, in partnership with the NGO Ateliere Fara Frontiere (AFF).
With this initiative, SG EBS equally reduced its CO2 footprint and improved its waste management strategy, by selective collection of the un-used equipment and re-inclusion of the old electronic and electric products into the economic life-cycle, while promoting a sustainable and ecofriendly behavior.
Through this project, the company achieved significant results:
- More than 10 tons of EWaste was collected (starting from 0 kg as baseline) which translated into more than 774 456,32 kg of CO2 avoided, 39 344 731 trees absorbing CO2 in one day or 134 844 cars removed from the road for one day
- More than 2500 IT items collected, repaired and donated to schools from vulnerable communities
- 7,5 CO2 tones / month reduction and 36% decrease of kWh/employee electricity consumption
Furthermore, Societe Generale European Business Services received in June another great win for its CSR efforts. During the Romanian CSR Awards, the company received the 3rd place in the Health Category, awarded by CSR Media, with our long-lasting project BI Elias.
Within this ambitious project developed for such a challenging field, SG EBS volunteers, together with Passe-par-Nous NGO have dedicated, since March 2018, over 1,000 hours from their work time for analyzing existing documents, drawing conclusions and optimization recommendations for Emergency University Hospital Elias. As a result, our volunteers analyzed, defined and optimized over 170 processes. The uniqueness of this initiative comes from being the first project that aims to help the hospital improve the entire workflow for the benefit of all patients and of hospital’s staff, besides the simple construction of a new ward. Â
It is the second year in a row that BI Elias project is recognized as an example of excellency in Citizenship, with 2019’s CSR Initiative of the Year award, received at Business Services Forum Awards.
SG EBS will continue its focus on CSR, in each of the 3 streams (Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion and Citizenship), creating new opportunities to positively impact the community.
