The results of the “Community Index” study were recently released, the first and only index of the programs and projects carried out by companies in Romania to invest in the communities’ development, and one of the programs we support is among the projects mentioned in this document.

Annually, in search of the best projects and based on a complex evaluation form, the index analyses over 800 Romanian programs which are implemented between January and December. This database is divided into 19 categories, with each category looking for the best initiatives according to an evaluation form with 46 indicators like the level of performance, transparency or how project results are measured.

We are honoured that, together with the Simplon Romania association, we were noticed and selected in this list, receiving, for the Future Ready project, a Bronze Recognition in the category “Education: Technology in Schools / Education: Tech In Schools”.

The program was noticed by the authors of the Community Index as a good practice in the market, as it helped more than 400 children to develop, for free, the digital skills required by the 21st century labour market and for managing risks and dangerous situations that may appear in the online environment or in the interactions that take place in this environment.

With the help of six educational modules, each including four online lessons, the children enrolled in the project had the opportunity to learn from trainers and volunteers about cybersecurity, social media and online marketing, artificial intelligence, video editing and introductory notions to Unity, game design and 3D art.

After the end of the project, all online modules were published on the association’s YouTube channel for free viewing, being dedicated to children who want to learn new things designed to help them develop new skills and their critical thinking.

At company level, we will continue “to work together to build a better and sustainable future”, as Societe Generale Global Solution Centre Romania included in the business strategy the active and continuous involvement in CSR activities through its streams (which focus on areas like Environmental Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion, Citizenship, Sustainable IT or Sustainable Finance) and an active involvement in the creation of new opportunities designed to bring a positive, real and significant impact on the development of the communities we are part of.
