Debate around Agile in distributed teams

On the 2nd of March, SSC IT continued the series of events and organized its second Agile open meeting.  The theme of the event was “Agile in distributed teams” and the goal of the event was to discuss about the constraints, challenges and success stories of Agile when practiced in distributed teams.

The event took place at the Bucharest Impact Hub, a very cozy and accessible location in downtown.

Attendance: plenty of for Agile enthusiasts, around 60 participants, both from SG EBS as well as from other IT companies in Bucharest. The subject has managed to get the audience to actively participate at the discussion and to challenge the speakers and their ideas.

The format of the event was a debate between 2 teams that were given the opportunity to present their positions and to directly question the opposing team. And if a key trademark of a debate it’s that it rarely ends in agreement, this time, at the end of the debate, we had an almost unanimous winner, proving that Agile can be successfully implemented even in distributed teams. The teams have tackled some key concepts such as: communication, distribution of work, teams’ maturity, technical alignment or recruitment strategy.

This event was sponsored by SCC IT and done in collaboration with our colleagues and partners in the Agile transformation from Cegeka.

This year there are other events planned around Agile topics so please stay tuned for the next one and see you all Agile passionate there!
