Societe Generale Global Solution Centre continues to support local career events in 2021

In these atypical times, interaction (even at a distance) and individual development remain just as important. In 2021, we are committed to once again being present at key career events in the local market and welcoming those seeking employment with opportunities that focus on work-life balance, as well as with online development sessions on various topics of interest.

Thus, Societe Generale Global Solution Centre (SG GSC) joined in the first half of the year events dedicated to students, fresh graduates, but also to those who have already started their careers and are actively looking for new prospects, in sectors such as Finance & Accounting, IT, BPO & Services, etc. Together with the candidates interested in joining us, we have identified relevant career opportunities – and some of them are now our colleagues. Although conducted exclusively online, the events allowed us to get to know each other and to discuss the candidates’ expectations in a new context influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Târgul IT&C

On March 13 and 14, experts from our IT teams and colleagues from the HR – Recruitment department were present at the latest edition of Târgul IT&C organized by Liga Studenților din Facultatea de Automatică și Calculatoare (LSAC) of Polytechnic University of Bucharest. The job fair is the biggest IT&C career event that gathers many Romanian companies that come to present their job offers, internships and apprenticeship programs.

For SG GSC, Târgul IT&C is a great opportunity to interact with young technology enthusiasts, to better understand their expectations and meet them with exciting career opportunities in our IT division. Over 800 participants visited our virtual booth from more than 1,500 students present at the event, and our colleagues received about 400 applications for our open positions during the two days of the event.

Next Gen: Finance Recruitment Day

The only event in Romania dedicated exclusively to students and young graduates with a background in Finance, Accounting & Banking, Finance Recruitment Day offers a dynamic and flexible agenda. The March 17 edition gathered more than 350 participants, SG GSC being among the main sponsors of the event.

Vincent Orcin, Head of Finance Shared Service Center @ SG GSC, spoke about the transition for a job in accounting in a keynote that was very much appreciated by the Accounting, Audit & Tax stage audience. Also, during the day, our colleagues from the HR – Recruitment teams held speed-interview sessions with pre-registered candidates, and dozens of participants visited our virtual booth and discovered more details about our team, culture, and work environment.

Angajatori de TOP

The biggest career event in Romania has moved exclusively online in 2020, and this year’s spring edition complemented the digital format with a new approach. The fair took place from March 22 to April 22 at the national level, on Hipo.ro portal.

Reaching its 30^th edition, the event supports all job seekers, regardless of their level of experience, by promoting the latest career opportunities offered by the multinational and local companies present. For this purpose, the organizers have now thought of 3 new editions focused on the most-wanted fields, each lasting 10 days: Business, Technology and Engineering.

Once again, SG GSC joined the event as a sponsor, being present at the Business and Technology days. During the 20 days, more than 2,300 candidates visited our virtual booth, and almost half of them applied to our vacancies. In addition to attending the event with dozens of career opportunities, SG GSC also hosted a technical webinar with over 25 participants – young people with a passion for technology and software development.
